This story in the Lovestruck genre is a novella so it was a bit fast paced. A lot was told in a short time frame. Kylie has been screwed over and hurt by men high-powered positions. First her father then her cheating ex-fiancé. Now she’s through with men in general, especially men with tons of money. Kylie is intensely attracted to Jake but only because she doesn’t know his real name and job title. Kylie only plans to have one hot night with a down to earth casino security guy. What she ends up with is a smoking hot hotel and casino owner. Jake is fascinated with Kylie when he literally bumps into her. Once her learns about her painful past with powerful men, her decides to keep his true identity a secret for the time being so she’ll have an opportunity to get to know Jake as a man. Once every secret is revealed, Jake has is work cut out to convince Kylie that he is not like those jackasses from her past. If you are looking for a short story that is light-hearted and funny this is the book for you.
Oh loved this book and the way the Author made the characters come to life. A must read love story.
Well written and character development is good. Didn't realize it'd be so short. But sexy and fun. One sexual encounter in particular had some dialogue that made me roll my eyes. But overall I enjoyed this book.
Fix the spelling , it would actually be a good book , the paragraphs we're together , I got confuse😬 I had to read it twice to understand it.
This was yet another fun, quick read set in Vegas during a romance writer’s conference, although this one had less to do with the conference than some of the others in the series. This is my first book by Dawn Chartier and I have to say I enjoyed her writing for the most part. The story was a bit short and underdeveloped at times, but that happens a lot with novellas. I look forward to checking out other books by her in the future.
Love stories about ' what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Fast-paced, witty, sexy, well edited, without all the ' I can't forgive that you lied to me...during a one/two night sex with a stranger!' Boy oh boy...I sure would forgive a misunderstanding like this one. I would recommend for a good poolside/beach read. Enjoyed the characters and Viva Las Vegas lust.
The characters are a bit shallow... it focuses mostly on the two main characters, switching point of view constantly and leaving me a little confused sometimes. The main characters have some depth to them but overall they are fairly shallow and there isn't much to them, the friends even less so.
So and so friend does this, or that... Very little is known about anyone else involved in the story. I don't care about anyone else in the story because there is so little known. The story itself is rushed, the characters have a complete turn around far too quickly... it wasn't believable...
So with that out of the way... it wasn't a bad story overall but I feel that there could have been so much more depth to this. And the part between confrontation and resolution was far too fast.
